Sustainable & Adaptive Pathways for Agriculture and the Environment

This pathway focuses on building resilient agricultural and environmental systems that restore ecosystems, strengthen food systems, and enable communities and institutions to adapt to climate change. Particularly, we deliver direct impact across three SDGs; Zero hunger(SDG 2), Climate Action (SDG 13), and Life of Land (SDG 15) through projects and initiatives.Our core commitments here include:

Through research, continued learning and capacity-building, we turn insights into action,empowering farmers, institutions, and partners to make data-informed decisions and improve agricultural and environmental outcomes. Our work strengthens institutions and communities by building skills, sharing evidence, and nurturing ideas that shape better decision-making. We do this by:

    Conducting baseline studies, assessments, and evaluations (surveys, participatory assessments, feasibility studies) to inform programme design.

    Producing manuals, practical guides, case studies, training modules, and digital knowledge products tailored to agriculture and environmental sectors.

    Hands-on training in climate-smart agriculture, and regenerative practices.

    Policy and technical research – sector-specific studies to guide agriculture, environment, and climate interventions.

Tools like digital platforms, and artificial intelligence, make development work smarter, faster, and more effective. We support technologies that help communities, agribusinesses, and institutions to adapt to climate risks, improve productivity, and operate sustainably. We do this by working with innovators, startups, and institutions to test, scale and recommend their ideas so they can reach more people and make a real impact.

Under this theme, we connect agribusinesses, farmers, and cooperatives to reach profitable and sustainable markets locally, regionally, and globally. By reducing intermediaries, improving quality, and creating new regional and digital trade channels, we aim to bridge policy, innovation, and opportunity to build a continent that trades more with itself, and with the world on fair and forward-looking terms. Our work improves market access, strengthens value chains, and enables enterprises to grow and compete effectively through;
